Are you on a server?
Did the generation finish?
Does it work without Shaders?
!slowgen
World generation in general is quite slow and world gen mods can slow it down even more. If you want to speed it up:
Install Noisium, Lithium and C2ME. These mods can improve generation speed by a bit, but it will still not be fast.
Increase

CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU. You are not required to wait for the full generation to finish, although it is better for fps if you do.
To see if
Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Try the second part
I did that and it says 1h and 3 minutes
183,000 chunks left
does that mean before I can really properly use the mod, its trying to load in 183,000 of the worlds chunks?
Well you can still play the game during the generation, but yes, DH will be able to load the LoDs only after they are generated
yo, quick question about lods gen, i have a smp server with pre-loaded 40x40km map, DH is necessary should be installed on server side? Because for some reason lods doesnt show up for new players when DH isnt installed, with DH on server there is no issues
i just dont wanna create new thread
!server
DH won't be able to generate LODs for chunks outside the vanilla render distance unless DH is installed on the server (DH 2.3.0+). Instead, as you travel around the world, LODs will be generated for areas you've visited.
If DH is installed on the server, it will work just like in singleplayer, gradually pregenerating chunks around the player. The server also has access to the
/dh pregen start <dimension> <origin> <chunkRadius>
command, useful when you want to pregen without anyone online.

Server does not need to have DH installed in order for it to work for clients
But if the server does not have DH, clients will need to generate the LoDs themselves by exploring. Only what’s in their vanilla RD will be converted to LoDs
Clients without DH can still join the server with DH installed, they will just be unaffected
