Trying to get Proton 10 on Heroic to no avail. Need to help.
Hi, I've been trying to get Genshin Impact to work since last week and just recently got help from a friend who helped me download it on Steam find the means that ought to make Heroic find Proton 10 like "Allow using Valve Proton builds to run games" but Heroic dosen't seem to find Proton 10.
We did some other stuff but we've hit a roadblock now we think, so both he and I thought it be best to ask for extra help.

P.S. He seems to be able to find Proton on his Heroic but for some reason mine can't.
P.P.S. I'm running on Ubuntu while he runs on Manjaro.

What installation method (system/Flatpak/Snap) are both Steam and Heroic using?

I think Heroic is installed via a Flatpak while Steam is installed via the Appcentral, i have to check with my friend though, im kinda bad at this stuff since im new with Linux
If Steam is indeed installed via Snap (check
snap list to make sure), that's likely the problem. I'm not sure how well-supported the Snap version is nowadays, last I head was that you shouldn't use itfuture-harlequinOP•4w ago

You should uninstall the Snap version of Steam and switch to Flatpak at the minimum.

Will there be any problems with installing Flatpak Steam that i need to watch out for? Also, can i install it via. Warehouse?

the problem is snap steam is not good even valve tell you not to install it

heroic has latest proton ge in its wine manager

genshin impact does not work with ge-proton, they need stock proton from steam

You can open Steam, find Proton 10, open its local files (IIRC right-click -> "Manage" -> "Browse local files") and then copy that folder to
~/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl/config/heroic/tools/proton/future-harlequinOP•4w ago

I tried launching it with both Proton-10 and Proton Experimental and i recieved a "Wine C++ Runtime Library" error it seems
