Compatability question-kinda.
So I want to switch to bazzite for a while, but my internet speed is quite bad for the most part and reinstalling certain games is a pain.
As of the moment, I am on windows 11, I have all of my games installed from steam, the one I am most concerned about is Overwatch 2. Every other game I own or play isnt nearly as big as these and takes a reasonable amount of time to install.
Would it be possible for me copy the "steamapps\common\overwatch" file to an external drive and then simply copy and paste it into the new OS aka bazzite and have no issues? If there are issues, what would I need to use?
I'm sorry if this is a weird question and thank you in advance for any help.

you're better off saving a backup of the game to an external drive, steam has this functionality built in
rightclick whatever game you want in the library, go to properties, then installed files and hit backup game files
hm i see
would i then be able to just plug and play it after i install bazzite?
however i would make sure that whatever games you want to play have anticheats that support bazzite
or would i need something like Wine or Bottle?
and linux in general
the game doesnt have anticheat like fortnite etc has where it would kill any linux dream
overwatch 2 does supposedly have it
support i mean
yes
you can check at areweanticheatyet.com
most if not all steam games will run on linux, steam has proton and steamplay
❤️
you might have to manually change the proton version in some cases to get better performance or fix issues but otherwise it should just work :)
❤️ most of my games have native support from what i saw anyway
thank you very much
no problem :3
