Please help me with simple advice / maybe a tutorial.

I host my own public Minecraft server (just started). I need to know the proper way of backing it up daily. I tried looking online and maybe I'm not searching it correctly or seeing it.

Aprreciate that info please keep in mind im new to hosting for this game and well its somewhere my son and i get to hang out together. So with that said it leads me to my next question when the modpack we play updated I tried to back up that folder and not sure if i messed up but when i tried to restore it the world was wiped. So if you can afford the time can you list the steps i would need to take to insure the world remains intact through a modpack update? Also thank you for your patients and understanding with this 🙂

your world should be in the "world" folder in your server directory you can just copy that "world" folder in order to create a backup of the data when you put it back, just make sure it's called "world" if you're really uncomfortable with handling the hosting yourself, you could also pay for hosting. they have a panel interface that's easier to use and they (should) do backups for you. they also will have support staff that can assist you i use Winternode and they take backups every 12 hours, up to 45 days back. their support staff do a great job as well
