i think you should look at the whole compound here not just Nitrogen the methyl groups at nitrogen are increasing the e desnity making it easier to donate electrons and thus increasing basic nature

that's true but the major factor is steric inhibition to resonance or SIR / ortho effect the first one is hindered so less resonance with the benzene ring, so less delocalisation of lone pair hence more tendency to donate lone pair to proton thus more basic
