How to Limit FPS on Non-steam games in Desktop Mode?

Hi, as title asks how may I limit fps in Non-Steam Games in Desktop mode? It's an Old game run through proton experimental, with Opengl and has no in game vsync or fps limit options so its running at 1000+ fps. many thanks for any suggestions!

gamescope can if whatever you're using to launch the game lets you use launch commands https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Gamescope

You can also do this with mangohud See their documentation And DXVK also has its own frame limiter you can use Pick whichever you like

Just did this with mango hud. many thanks! EDIT: launch command added to the game on Steam: MANGOHUD=1 MANGOHUD_CONFIG=fps_limit=120,no_display %command% game was for old Mabinogi G1-only private server.
