Wedding Suit Advice

I'm dumb at suits (and kinda in general). I'm also getting married. Setting: SoCal beach, winter, sunrise.
I found the below pic here on this server, and I loved it. That suit is no longer available, though. After searching a lot, I bought this: https://propercloth.com/tailored-clothing/vbc-slate-melange-wool-flannel-downing-suit-293895.html
It hasn't arrived yet, but the shirt did.
Since ordering it, we've also decided that our vibe should incorporate more black (think witchy, gothy) to go with her new ring.
So, a few questions related to the above:
#1. I was hoping to "dress down" the suit a bit (similar to the pic referenced). But is the cut/construction of the suit I ordered too formal to have fun with?
#2. Any recommendations for finding a shirt that works with the suit, but unbuttoned? I ordered the one in the pictures on Proper Cloth (lol) but the collar is really stiff, and I'm not sure it works when worn open.
#3. Any recommendations for shirt color? Considering the vibe change, maybe just white?
#4. I'd love any advice for making the suit match the vibe. I'm trying to have fun with it, but again I'm dumb and can't visualize things together. Maybe some chunky black loafers (https://www.drmartens.com/us/en/adrian-bex-smooth-leather-tassel-loafers-black/p/26957001) ? Or Chelsea boots?
