håvard - Trying to build the perfect page for m...
Trying to build the perfect page for my setup. Would be great if it was possible to have a border around a group of gauges to keep things organized and easy to read. And possibility for vertical text would also be nice. Or am I missing it, and it’s already there?

yeah, neither is curretnly possible
but I wonder if you could create an empty gauge to create the border
Is there an order of things when you put one gauge over another? What determines what’s shown?
I do the “empty guage” all the time - to create a color border around other guages.
only thing is that editing gets a bit weird at times … when trying to “select” the “outer” guage … and the guages are overlaid on each other
example … the charger “guages” are 3 individual guages - with border switched off.
and an empty guage with colored and thicket border overlaid onto them …
takes a bit of messing to get it all correctly spaced etc

even more extreme example … takes a lot of time to build these !
(each is 12 inner guages … with a border guage)

im not aware of any method to build “vertical” text ?
i havent built these guages in a while … so cant remember the trick to building them … that is.. which guage you laydown first? (border guage or the inner)
i recall there was a trick to it … to make the “selection” and movement process easier … given how they are treated as overlays
🙂
and if your chasing “inspiration” for the “perfect” guages/panel ..
here is one i built for my boat (using line drawing of actual boat)
It has “LED guages” … that are RED when a hatch/door (17 in total) etc is open ..
also shows anchor/running/side lights 🙂
I overlay them onto the background drawing …
… and yes editing this is a real bitch!

i call this page the “who left that bloody porthole open” display
… yes some of them are quite close to water level!
