GoDaddy to Cloudflare - DNS Records Missing
I updated my nameservers on GoDaddy to what's displayed in Cloudflare on Saturday. It is now Tuesday and I still don't have the DNS records showing up.

According to the documentation, "Domain registrars can take up to 24 hours to process the nameserver updates." (Source: https://developers.cloudflare.com/automatic-platform-optimization/get-started/change-nameservers/)
It's been 4 days since you updated your nameservers, which is beyond the expected processing time. However, it's possible that the update is still pending or there might be an issue with the propagation.
You can try checking the status of your DNS records by following the steps outlined in the documentation: "Select your domain from the dropdown. Select the DNS > Records tile. DNS management for your domain displays." (Source: https://developers.cloudflare.com/automatic-platform-optimization/get-started/confirm-dns-records/)
If you're still experiencing issues, you can try re-checking your nameserver updates on GoDaddy to ensure they were entered correctly.

do I need to change the nameservers back and try again?
What's the domain? Are only some records missing, or is it not working at all?
decentlabs.com
no records populated at all
That domain is currently using AWS nameservers.
sorry i was in between switching it to GoDaddy to check if they'd populate there and if i needed to just copy and paste them (i didn't)
i changed the nameserver back to Cloudflare
should be visible now
still using AWS nameservers
nani
does this require GoDaddy support orrr
Are you actually in the menu where it says "nameservers" and not "NS records"?
Also, the domain hasn't been added to Cloudflare yet.
wow hehe wait
i'm so sorry
it's decentlabs.ca
hahaha i just bought it
long day
That domain is using Godaddy nameservers
But it seems it was active on Cloudflare already.
well then... i'll wait another 48 hours before i come back then
Why?
i read that it could take as much for everything to propagate to cloudflare
Nah, such changes are usually immediate, at most it might take a minute.
Looks good now.
okay nameserver is now cloudflare
so for the DNS records... i need to make those myself? last time i did that i used github pages, but i thought the ones from godaddy would transfer
Did you have records on GoDaddy already?
i did, but didn't note them. although the A record for example wasn't an IP, it was just plaintext, didn't think it would work if i copied that over
Ok, what kind of records do you expect? Do you have a website? email?
i have a server, main goal is to just allow for me to access it through the domain
Create an A record with the name
@
and you server IPokay, i don't need the CNAME and all that? i mean i may want email for server notifications as well come to think of it
thank you so much btw
What is "the cname"?
whatever that record is
isn't A for ipv4, aaaa for ipv6, what's cname for?
cname is an alias
it means "take whatever record you would get if you looked up the cname instead"
ahh okay thank you, that makes sense!
is there a place for subdomains?
to add them
same place
just change the name of the record
thanks for all your help laud
