Power Off & Restart Not Working As Intended?
Hello,
On my OneXPlayer G1 with Bazzite, using the power menu "Shutdown" and "Restart" options simply put the device to sleep, 100% of the time. I play almost exclusively with a controller plugged into my glasses as a secondary monitor, which makes using console commands to shut down or restart frustrating.
Is there a way to find out why this is happening, and fix it? Alternatively, is there a way to put a shutdown/restart command as Non-Steam games, similar to the "Boot to Windows" one using ujust?
For information, I was using the test branch for the last month, and have now switched to official, but it is still having the issue.

I think it might be possible by making a bash script that runs
systemctl reboot
and then adding it as a non-steam game
but that's kind of a weird way of doing it
definitely not officially supportedOk - I'll wait to hear something official. I don't know why no one else is having this issue! Do you know if there is somewhere else I can post for admins to see?
you can ask around in the bazzite channel, though remember to put the solution here and mark it with the tool, so that the cause and solution doesn't get lost in the chat
and don't ping any devs directly
my aokzoe sleeps and shutsdown fine
i havent tested my x1 in a bit
Is there any sort of log I can post somewhere to show that it refuses to shutdown or restart?
yes, bug report from hhd, select logs from previous boot
With it saying "from previous boot", do I need to use the shutdown or restart button, causing it to sleep instead, then simply hard shutdown and boot back up, selecting that option?
Additionally, how do I followup on the bug report? Does it send the logs to me so I can post them here?
yes
post the link
how do you try to turn it off
There is the log. For information, I just realized that the issue only happens when a) plugged into power (in either USB C port), and b) using my external monitor via USB C.
I always use the power menu from within Gamemode, by going to the left menu>Power>Shutdown
and it sleeps? Hm nobody has ever had this issue before
I almost exclusively use my handheld with my external monitor (XREAL glasses) and a controller. Having to type a command or hold the power button isn't ideal.
were you able to review the log listed above?
From my current boot, after holding the power button down to power off and powering it back up to do the "previous boot" log.

you have the lid closed?
When using the external display, yes.
thats whats causing it
im not saying it should...
i dont test on clamshells
Is that some thing that can be changed in the settings or via code? the stand I have for the device is one that requires it be closed, which is great since the built-in display is disabled when using my monitor.
its a bug that needs to be fixed
Ok! If there's anything else you need for testing or logs, I'm happy to help provide it.
Let me change my "when lid closed" setting in desktop to see if it fixes it. I believe I set it to "do nothing", but will check.
it doesnt affect it
what happens is that the inhibitor for sleep gets closed when the session closes
and systemd tries to suspend before it powers off
i dont know how we'd fix this
Oof, ok! I guess I'll continue powering off via the power button!
Can I ask a question unrelated to this one from you, since you're here?
I can make a post about it, but it's been driving me nuts since using Bazzite and my external monitor.
^
youll end up corrupting your system
So I need open the lid, then use the shutdown option in the power menu, then wait for it to shutdown, then close the lid?
i guess so for now
Ok. I'll make a new post for my other issue.
I appreciate you looking at this one!
