cos sizing
I'm looking at some cos pants and their sizing is weird, wondering if anyone has their pants and can help
they have a body measurement chart but it seems to be the same for every time and doesn't really seem accurate, e.g. these https://www.cos.com/en-us/women/womenswear/trousers/wideleg/product/relaxed-wool-blend-wide-leg-trousers-black-1242831003 saying an L (14) is 29.9in (body measurement) waist but the size 4 having a 31.1" waist.
These next two don't even have a waist measurement listed, im assuming because they're somehow adjustable? The culottes say elasticated but the trousers don't say anything.

also interested in people's general opinion on cos pants, from searching opinions seem mixed

i can just try them on and return them which I'll probably do anyways but trying best as i can to narrow down the sizes first
every time i’ve bought cos pants online i’ve had to do this
i feel you, cos sizing is such a crap shoot. trying on and returning is the best way
ive found the size charts to be pretty good but not for atelier stuff
i made the mistake of trying to follow the size chart on some final sale stuff and thought "this seems too big but okay" and lo and behold way too big
love picking my size based on the hem width and nothing else cheers cos
You may also be able to get more detailed sizing information if you email customer service. I've found that a decent number of brands have that information but don't list it publicly for whatever reason
i’ve done that as well!
general opinion on cos pants: i'm happy with the jeans that fit me (https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1406717670887526502). i also have a pair of wool pants that, again, are too big but i'll probably take them in when the weather cools off more.
similarly i have two? pairs of cos pants and they’re good
@lys could probably speak more to quality, but i don't think she has any pants from cos
they’re not amazing for the price, even on sale, vs what you could get secondhand but the cuts can be good, fabrics are really all over the place
no pants but I like cos for basics (tanks/tees), I prefer their cuts for womenswear and their fabrics to uniqlo or muji.
sizing though, even for those, is a total crapshoot and tag sizes and the size chart mean absolutely nothing. just have to be comfortable with returning things
pretty sure those product measurements are way off like u said. i'm usually a 14 in COS women's and a 32" waist
COS does a good job of making stuff that's good enough quality, which is how I'd describe it
i have returned more than half of what i’ve bought 100%
