9950x3d or 9800x3d for DH?
I'm building a new pc for DH and wondering if there'll be a huge difference between the two?

Yes, double the cores
DH is heavily multithreaded, LOD generation will be a lot faster (I have a 9950x3d, its incredibly fast with DH)
basically double
See the benchmarking sheet:

But its not really worth it building a pc just for DH unless the only thing you ever play is MC with DH. Other games rarely take advantage of more than a few cores and on windows the ccd without the extra cache gets parked when playing games
9950x3d
16c, 32t
4.3 - 5.7 GHz
128 MB cache
9800x3d
8c, 16t
4.7 - 5.2 GHz
96 MB cache
The 9950x3d is better in every single metric
yup
I basically own the biggest used to be community for Minecraft and I see a ton of value in the videos made with DH
so yea that’s the reason I want specifically for dh
Plus vr lol
But the cpu won’t make that much of a difference for fps when it’s loaded ?
thats mostly dependent on the GPU
But huge terrain generation mods such as JJthunder to the Max are enormously heavy, having a beast of a CPU is a huge benefit there
