[NVIDIA | KDE Plasma Wayland] GPU output hangs after long idle when launching games

After leaving my PC on overnight, the first time I launch a game (tested with World of Warcraft via Lutris and Dragon Age: Veilguard via Steam/Proton), my monitor loses signal completely. The OS is still responsive underneath (Caps Lock toggles, TTY accessible), but the NVIDIA driver seems to hang and won’t recover without reboot.

This only happens after leaving the system on overnight. If I reboot and launch the same games, they run normally with no crashes. The issue seems to have started after the latest stable update, I didn’t see it over the weekend.

System details:

Release: bazzite-nvidia-open
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080
Desktop: KDE Plasma (Wayland)
Compatibility Layers: Proton Experimental (Steam), wine-staging-tkg 10.13 (Lutris)
