While we have no issue with owning duplicates, sometimes times call for owning two highly similar things? What almost duplicates do you own, and what is their difference? How does the difference affect how you wear it?

slim white oxford and big white oxford. the difference in silhouette alone is considerable enough for me to view them as two completely different pieces. i love a white buttondown so i like being able to wear one for multiple occasions, the slim one lending itself to layering or more formal/office appropriate attire or the slouchy one as a top on relaxed and lazy fits
they’re probably the two tops that get the most wear out of my whole wardrobe too
I have slim fit black jeans in 10oz, 11oz, and 14oz and if I don't get another pair every few years a witch curses my apartment
You see, this brown raglan coat is a slightly different shade of brown than that other one, so basically two different coats.
I think it's a slippery path sometimes because you do end up with similar or identical garments that you might not wear as often.
I try to keep stuff interesting and different from one another but even then there are often pieces that occupy the same niche, no matter how different they are
I mean I got pretty much the same color pants in summer wool/wool blends and winter wool
Not all clothes can be worn year round
At the beginning of 2024, I owned 0 blue button ups. I now own 5 blue button ups. They’re all different I swear.

I’ve got 2 pairs of very similar black cargo balloon pants. One has a cinch hem and the other has a button hem and there are other tiny differences but really I just sent too many lowballs and remember that every time I open the pants drawer

I have four denim jackets so uh quadplicate?
But! they are all different style of jacket and colour so they are actually different from one another
I think if you like something it's perfectly great to own multiple variations of that thing and find different ways to wear each one
