WeMod

Hello dear Bazzite Developers! Just wanted to kindly ask if there is any way you could assist with the installation of WeMod on to Bazzite? The best single player trainer app available anywhere, would be awesome to get it running with Steam and Epic games πŸ™‚ I've tried many different potential fixes offered via YouTube by Grown Up Gaming channel. Unfortunately to no luck. Adding WeMod to Bazzite image would definitely make it even more perfect. Thank you for your efforts!

Is WeMod available as a Linux app? If so, open a Fedora container in DistroShelf and download it there. If it's a Windows app, what have you tried to get it running?

they're not gonna add a windows-only cheat tool to the image

It is unfortunately windows only exe file. I did ask WeMod devs to consider expanding on Linux platforms as well. They were not particularly overwhelmed but did say it will be considered in the future. So far I've tried to use different versions of Proton and added it as non-steam game so it would be in the same prefix. I watched several YT videos where it was shown it is 100% possible to do but unfortunately when I tried to replicate it I could not find the Proton-GE-6-2 version that was used to make it happen. Grown Up Gaming channel has many of these tutorials available, but the videos are 1 year old by now. I know it has to be installed in Steam prefix in order to "see" the installed games. The question is more about how to make it happen. Maybe they will add it maybe they won't. Since Bazzite is quite literally the easiest and most complete gaming distro I'vew tried I figured it never hurts to ask πŸ™‚

https://github.com/jcnils/protonhax this exists but you'll have to figure out on you own how to set up the correct symlink to your $PATH since /usr isn't writeable in bazzite

if you have a portable install of the exe then you can add PROTON_REMOTE_DEBUG_CMD="/path/to/the exe.exe" %command% to the game's launch options in steam (where /path/to/ is the absolute path to where you have the exe portably installed - on KDE its easy to get this path by right clicking the exe and pressing "copy location", also make sure the path has no spaces in the folder or file names) two options for u to play with it's never gonna get added to the image so figuring this out urself is the only option

I will keep trying to figure this out. Biggest challenge is I don't know Bazzite as a system well enough. Will self educate, read all of the documentation. Look up Fedora image based tutorials and so on. In the meantime I'll just install tiny11 on my other 1TB SSD drive so I can enjoy it frustration free. Thank you for valuable input πŸ™‚

i would avoid using custom windows isos like tiny11 they are generally insecure if u wanna use windows just use windows 11
