DH LODs not generating, issue related to Oracle Cloud VM lacking perms to read/write in directory?
Distant Horizons LODs are either not generating nor loading in new chunks. The ones which were generated when the world file was on a LAN server do render properly, but those which were not after the migration of the world to the dedicated server (on an Oracle Cloud Virtual Machine) do not.

here it is

It is working
Maybe it's just slower than you expect
it can't be, I don't think the server uses a potato CPU ðŸ˜, I just don't see at all them loading, is it normal for them not to load even after 2 hours of standing in one place?
because I have places where I did that and nothing
the only LODs that do load are the ones when the server was on my LAN
The screenshot shows that 57 LOD requests have been sent, and that 20 are still waiting for data
It has also done 203 update checks on login
Both of these are requests to the server
but then why are they not visible I wonder hmm
What have you set the CPU preset and quality settings to on your client?

same settings as when on LAN, when it worked
now on dedicated, no more
I even tried disabling and re-enabling the rendering
Okay, with lower quality settings - each drop in quality as the LODs are rendered further away, will require longer and longer to render the first time because of the amount of data it needs
Try increasing the quality to max
Or just wait
uh
something strange happened
i will attempt recording
sorry for bad quality
I think it is the same issue tbh, the long waiting which yields nothing visually, the only chunk LODs rendered are those which I directly explore and the ones previously generated in the LAN world
it's exactly as if the mod is not on the server, but it is :))
It still says 57 requests and 20 pending, which is weird. It appears to have stalled somehow. Any errors in the server console?
no errors
actually, I decided to just move really really far from spawn, and then wait for them to show up, and I got this error

seems it got stuck lol

i mean, the message just stays there and the chunks are like that, done for
RejectedExecution, so the server is having trouble executing tasks for some reason
so my suspicions were right, it is the Virtual Machine not having perms perhaps? but I am quite sure I gave the ubuntu user chmod stuff
Probably not permission related
