Issue trying to add mods on linux

Hello, I am trying to add mods to a game, but when i put them into the mods folder, .local/share/aspyr-media/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Mods, nothing happens. Does anyone knows why?

Linux build might simply not compatible with mods due to being at an older version or some weird reason like that
