Created in 2014, Aimé Leon Dore is a fashion and lifestyle brand based in New York City. From their mix of traditional menswear and streetwear to their lookbooks and marketing, ALD has made a lasting impact in recent years. What do you think of ALD? Is it still worth the hype or are they washed? Are their clothes worth the cost, especially with more competitors on the market (or vintage equivalents)? The cafes always have a line when I walk by so I’ve never been in but it does kinda look like a vibe
What is this brand if not a vibe
feel like the brand provided a transitional style between the current popular stuff and the styles of the 2010s but failed to transitition to the current styles
ALD is fine. The PRL-but-freaked it a lil styling still hits for me, largely.
It suffers from the same thing EG suffers from which is boring people too afraid to style anything interestingly, but thats not really on the brand.
Idk its kinda stussy or supreme to me. They're gonna keep doing ALD for better or for worse. Don't expect huge stylistic changes between seasons, and don't expect it to be inexpensive and there u go.
its funny seeing things swing back a lil towards the 2010s tho. ALD truly is timeless......
I mean ALD is just a little played out, they still kinda hit their niche though

The neo-prep streetwear with cool details is basically ALD's calling card

Ive moved past them in my fashion journey but they are cool, carrion's right that most of the people into them are lame and scared of anything cool
The brand itself is fine and still makes some cool stuff
ALD as an actual brand and lookbook curator is pretty good still. ALD as an all consuming avatar of Cool is very over
finding ALD stuff at crossroads for like 30 bucks
but i still bought it because it's good
ALD is a millenial coded brand and that is both compliment and insult

HOWEVER their styling hits (still) (mostly) and it ushered in an era of men caring about their fits beyond just grabbing a gingham shirt and slim straight chinos

ive got ald shorts and a sweater i got as a prize for my house burning down
I have new balances 650’s , strange shoes both on feet and feel. Not really comfortable but definitely very Unitarian in my daily use
