i'm not able to start kde or update anything

rpm-ostree update and flatpak update both fail for different reasons, and logging in seems to immediately crash kde.
Solution:
...i dont know how, but after messing around, it fixed itself. everything is fine now. uhhh

running rpm-ostree update and flatpak update with sudo appears to work fine, but has solved no issues. something seems to be wrong with my user account or polkit? running flatpak update as my user account also gives me a completely different list of outdated flatpaks. running with sudo (now) tells me i'm fully up to date, "Nothing to do.", but running as my user account gives me a list of 91 ".Locale" flatpaks i don't know if it's related since i'm not 100% sure how bazzite handles things like this, but i'll mention it anyway just in case. yesterday i was unable to run something that relied on libtheora even after installing theora with brew and this made me notice that $LD_LIBRARY_PATH is empty. the problem went away when i manually set it to /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/lib in .bashrc i also want to say that all of these issues are persisting even after running rpm-ostree update with sudo and rebooting

I've been having an issue similar to this, my sddm crashes and doesn't launch a desktop (KDE or big picture mode). My current workaround is to go into a TTY, login there, and run startplasma-wayland
