Kills my TPS even when fully disabled?
I've been building a large modpack, and during testing i found that my TPS was pasuing alot during gameplay. This was evident on the TPS graph with ALT + F3, yet no spikes occurred when the ticks came back. I did a binary search and found it was DH, tried enabling it but disabling distant gen and rendering DH cunks, and my TPS is still consumed. If i unninstall DH however, it's fine.

How much ram do you have allocated?

18GB is far too much. Try decreasing it to 12 or less. Also do you have stutters if you load up mc with the only mod being DH?

Sometimes i use multiplayer mods to Server Host from within the game, should i increase it if I'm doing that?
Only if you are running out of ram
should i use task manager to tell if that is the case?

In the top right is a ram %. If it goes to 80-90% or more and stutters then you probably don't have enough allocated

fabric version crashed, should i try the neoforge version?
idk much about sinytra apart from that it's often jankwith large mods

I'll try it but it's odd that my fps and general usage is fine. The TPS is only noticeable when mobs don't move or new chunks don't gen.
I did actually switch from java 17 to java 21 mid creation, so i probably had DH installed in java 17, before switching to 21

Okay just so Im still following the issue, whenever you have DH installed, TPS tanks and you get issues like mobs moving slow and blocks taking a second to break. You arent having FPS issues or lag spike issues.

sure thing, i already tried doing some stuff with spark but i struggle to diagnose stuff from there and i was kinda confused
it's also worth noting that on the in-game tps graph, you cannot see any spikes

Just spark profiler stop and it should generate a report and start again on its own

At this point I have two ideas left, one is to disable weather2 and cold sweat, and see if that significantly changes anything

The other is to do a binary search but always have DH enabled and see if there is a mod that has some incompatibility with it

backport is definetly the wrong word here as it implies you ported something and you just chnaged version

It is alwasy best to use the latest DH version so I wouldn't really call rolling back a fix

After that what you want to do is a !binary search, but you never remove DH from your mods. This is really gonna be the only way of identifying what mod is causing the issue
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
i might start with optim mods first as well

Because I've had c2me cause the server to freeze because of a block replacement mod, so it can be anything

i think i might of found roughly which mod it is?
i can't tell if the tps is just bad cause of the mods or if the conflict is conflicting
cause so far the tps isn't completely cooked

I made a new modpack and passed all the mods and deleted the config folder
I don't know if it really improved but there are no lag spikes

like what mods were removed?
we can compare both of urs with mine and maybe find a few mods that might of been the fault

i think i had a issue similar to this with tps kind of stalling, idk if thats whats going on here but i wasnt using dynamic trees

I don't think it's ram for me. In the f3 menu does your tps graph just stall sometimes and not even show a spike?
reduce balanced cpu to minimal impact
