Octopus V1.1 not detected in DFU flash

I am setting up a second VC4 500 IDEX and this time the Octopus v1.1 that came with the kit will not show up in the DFU flash mode after adding the boot0 jumper and power cycling. I ended up flashing it with the sd card. It now shows “up to date”, but still can’t get it to detect to DFU flash in the future. Any advice on what could cause this?

Did you use the jumper and reset button on the octopus?

Late reply but I could never get mine to work in DFU either no matter what. Just flashed via SD card. Must be something wrong with newer boards?

I found to flash via DFU on that board it has to be powered by full machine voltage (24v typically). When powered by 5v you have to do the flash manually via SD card.

Yes. I followed the instructions, just like I had done on the first machine I had built appropriately 6 months prior. I don’t recall flashing after connecting to 24v. It was 6 months ago, it is possible I did and forgot.

Either you give it the 24v or insert the USB power jumper on the octopus. Otherwise, there is nothing to be detected…

I had the USB power jumper on. I was getting status lights on the board, but it wasn’t detected, even with the boot0 jumper installed and after pressing the reset button.

The jumper is supposed to make it work, but it doesn't.

No leds on the octopus with the jumper?

LEDs are on with and without the jumper, but the the board was never detected by RatOS.

I'm fairly certain it's a board defect that is quite common. Not a serious one, just annoying.

That was what I was curious of. It did flash with SD, so it is still functional.

And of course once you are on printer power it will automatically update normally.
