@hardcoreisdead if you don't flip all of em you'll create an epimer of glucose, i.e., it will be L but it will no longer be glucose. will become smtg else (in this case it will become L idose - epimer of glucose at C5 posn)... so if u wanna draw the L form from the D form, draw the enantiomer of the D form.
