How to import client generated lod's to a server?
Hello, I have a server with some friends and I generated the servers world lod's on my pc, but when I move the file from my world to the server the lod's just dont load and distant horizons stops working all together with no error message or anything, I have A LOT of mods (Ill put the list if needed), the mod works perfectly fine when I dont import my own lod's.

btw, the mod is not installed on the server
no error message or anythingare you sure? can you send logs of the server? !logs
You should send your
latest.log file to provide additional useful information.
Logs are usually located in the .minecraft/logs directory.
On Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\logs
On Linux: ~/.minecraft/logs
On Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/logs
Please upload the file to mclo.gs instead of sending the raw file. This makes reading the contents of the file a lot easier and improves the chances of you getting the help needed.
After uploading the file, click on Save and send the link.DH should be installed on the server
oh, no, I cant send the server logs, but yeah Im not sure why but it dosnt work when I use the dh data generated by me
It cant be installed on server it lags too much
You won't get DH working on the server if it's not installed on the server
but it does work on sever it just wont use my own generated lods
Did you rename the file?
like, it works with the lod´s I generate when playing
no, should I?
Probably not lol
Yeah because that's clientside
You need DH installed on the server for everyone to be able to see LODs that were generated by the server
but I dont need the lod´s generated by the server
Do you want everyone to get sent the LODs so they don't have to generate it themselves? Then yes you do
I dont want that
No they just want to move the LOD file into their instance
yeah
Ahh
What I do is copy the whole world lmao

Single Player:
- Overworld:
.minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: .minecraft/saves/WORLD_NAME/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Multiplayer:
- .minecraft/Distant_Horizons_server_data/SERVER_NAME/
Server Mod
- Overworld: SERVER_FOLDER/world/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Nether: SERVER_FOLDER/world/DIM-1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- End: SERVER_FOLDER/world/DIM1/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
- Custom Dimensions: SERVER_FOLDER/world/DIMENSION_FOLDER/data/DistantHorizons.sqlite
Server Plugin
All dimensions in one file: SERVER_FOLDER/plugins/DHSupport/data.sqlite
NOTE:
Sometimes there might be 2 additional files next to the main one with extensions .sqlite-wal and .sqlite-shm
If there are, all 3 should be treated as a single file, a.k.a. moved, deleted, backed-up always together!
If you don't, the database will become corrupted. Were there the 2 other files mentioned in the note? You need to move them as well
there are no other 2 files for now but some of the times ive tried they where the 2 other files in the server´s lod´s, but the other 2 files are not present on my own client lod´s
I'd honestly stop the server and copy the world entirely
I have the world
Copy it to the server in full
I did that
I generated the world and that is the one passed into the server
Hmm okay that's weird then
I genuinely think it's just because you don't have DH installed on the server
So it's not sending what it needs
The mod's not gonna work how you expect if the server doesn't have it
Im pretty sure its not that, just because I can generated the lods while playing and it works perfectly, but the lod I pass into the dh server lods on my client dont render.
yeah but I dont want the lods to update or to generate from there
Yes because you have DH installed on your client and Minecraft singleplayer uses an internal server
They don't render because DH is getting literally nothing from the server, it's starting from scratch
Your issue is literally because you don't have it installed on the server
I dont think it is the problem
It is.
Install DH on the server and just to be safe delete the local DH database for the server (Distant_Horizons_server_data/serverName in your minecraft install folder)

I cant install it on the server
Do you admin the server?
no
Ask the admin to install it
I cant because it lags
Wait for DH to finish doing it's thing
I run a modded server with DH on four cores and 4GB of RAM
It runs JUST fine
I cant
You NEED the mod installed for it to do anything regarding sending LODs
I dont want to send any lods
You literally have to if you want to get it to show up????
not really
Yes really
OR alternatively you could move the files over to the server location, zip it up and send a massive multi gigabyte file to whoever wants the LODs
Which is far more of a hassle than simply installing the mod on the server and letting DH do it
its not what I want, I want the lods I generated to show up for me, In older versions I just needed to move the sqlite database to where the servers lod´s I see are on my client, but when I do that now it dosnt work
I dont want the server to be involved in this
I just want my own lods to be visible to me
Generate them by walking around on the server
That's the best option I've got at this point lol
Yeah maybe but I dont really wanna walk all around the world
when I already have the lods generated
They have a LOD file from what I can tell and it isn't working properly when they move it to the directory that DH creates for the server you join locally
yes
thats the issue
Whats the folder you are moving the LODs to?
oh wait
I tried for the 54th time and i think it worked now
yup
somehow it works now
Thanks for your help
Ahh okay
Love when that works lmao
