DH is using lots of RAM on large custom made modpack ~280 mods, potential memory leak? Need advice.
Hello, I am running a modpack of around 280 mods, I was wondering if it may possible some mods cause memory leaks, as my friend's client probably crashed (out of memory). I do not have access to their logs right now sadly but I also noticed on my own client that the memory does increase a lot, minecraft using lots of RAM, considering I allocated 8 GB RAM to the instance. I could provide logs from my client and server if needed.

How much RAM do you have in your PC?
Try allocating more RAM to MC
There are many mods that can have memory leaks, if adding DH causes them to show up, it is either DH or worldgen mods (they generate a lot of terrain when DH is active)
You can also decrease the DH CPU load and/or disable distant generation to make DH itself use less RAM
This started happening to me too, if you find a solution let me know plz
16 GB RAM, PC RAM is already running 98% capacity
I cannot even have a browser open
i5 8400/1050, and 16gb of ram, you need to drop all settings as low as possible or try a lighter modpack.
my friend has way better specs than be and still encounters the same issues
only fix was to increase RAM allocation, but in time, even that made the instance run out of memory
!binary
Try a binary search and figure out which mod is causing it.
So disable half of the mods, see if issue is still there, if yes disable half again etc etc until you find the mod that's causing the issue.
You can try to find mods that have the memory leak (either by themselves or when used alongside DH)
I wished there was a proper tool to monitor the processes, but I guess this will do for now, lots of work ahead.
