Anyone Own Ski Goggles They Also Enjoy Wearing Casually In The Winter?

Am going on a trip to learn to snowboard this winter and am needing to find a pair of goggles somewhere.. since I was investing in some + the winters where I live can get strong weather; I'm wanting to look into goggles that I could wear anyday in the winter not only for snowboarding. Might not be the best place to ask for this advice, yet I thought if anyone who does ski/snowboard and has a good sense of style had advice, thatd be most helpful. Ik I could still wear pretty much any goggles as they'd provide great eye protection & cover with the wind (my eyes are always extra sensitive to the cold and get dry all the time, idk why), yet since I'm clueless in this area, I didn't want to invest a good bit of $$ into some which may also look extra bulky or off w my casual winter gear (+ goggles would pair well w my fits & style so im looking into it). So I'm wondering: if there are various types of goggles which are still effective in the mountains (or not really) / if anyone wears their goggles casually sometimes in winter and have an opinion to share / any possible suggestions of where or who to buy goggles from with good looks. I'd appreciate any input, ik the question may not be too needed yet I just don't have the kinda money to test out buying different pairs nd would want to see if I can make a more educated investment in one go. **Extra info: ▪︎ I live in Ontario, Canada - most my time spent north of the Great lakes yet I can visit Niagara area sometimes if they have good in person options ▪︎ Open to buying online or in person, preferably not second hand unless in great condition ▪︎ Willing to invest from $50 - $160 cad ▪︎ Hopefully looking to purchase to have for mid-December, yet as early as Oct would be sweet

Hi @Zzz! For better answers, include: - Reference pictures - Budget in numbers - Specific measurements - Openness to buying secondhand and/or online - Location: country/continent is fine - Timing/urgency

born in the snowbelt here, ive got cheapo crappy tire goggles for snowblowing and all that but i don’t think im ever really walking around outside fitted up when its windy and snowy enough to warrant goggles as an accessory do you have any inspo for what you want to pull off? pics will help a lot i do see a fair share of streetwear inclined folks walking around toronto with ski goggles on the sides of their head so its not unheard of but again i dont think they’re wearing them over eye, just as a head accessory ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If i'm thinking of the right kind of goggles i feel like you're dealing with a similar problem to trying to pull off big wraparound sunglasses like these

it draws attention and since the goggles are techincal gear you're drawing attention to something that brings to mind a specific purpose. and i guess you can lean into that and go experimental?

I was going to suggest looking for vintage, because modern goggles are designed for helmets so they look pretty massive without them But even James Bond looked ridiculous in vintage ski goggles

I'd likely use them in the snow but would also still probably fit the style when not actually using, I'll see if I can find some images that gave some inspo, I usually just make stuff work w what I have That's understandable Fs fs, good advice and noted - would likely fit what I go for when using them or may use so I'd jus have to experiment with it I found a good image that sorta fits the idea

Ik these aren't goggles but they're less yk bulky and a lil more casual than most ski goggles would be ig..? But if there are any working goggles that aren't as bulky pretty much Is mainly what I'm wondering about

i think sunglasses that are goggle-esque might absolutely be a play here cant help much with brand recs on that sadly its the bulk of the goggles that make it off but if you’re willing to go with sunglasses that have a similar shape but sit closer to face and dont need a wrap around band thats a lot safer

the problem i think is that for actually using skiing this sucks because wind gets around them, ive skiied a few times in sunglasses it was no the most pleasant experience

oh absolutely not multifunctional dont get me wrong here just the easiest path might be getting a functional pair of eyewear and a second something that can be fitted up

yeah splitting for 2 pairs would be my best advice i think ski goggles are really really hard to wear outside of the mountain but also very specialized so hard to just replace with a normal pair of goggles or glasses
