Trouble pairing bluetooth controllers with WCN785x Qualcomm FastConnect 7800

I'm trying to pair a DualSense controller to my desktop, which has a WCN785x Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 bluetooth controller. Whenever I pair using the KDE Setting GUI, I get 'The setup of DualSense Wireless Controller has failed'. I've also tried a CRKD Atom and get the same error, so I suspect something with the adapter. Any ideas how I can get this working?
