V-core 3.1 loosing my mind

Hey all! I’m trying to calibrate that damn printer for weeks now and I’m either to stupid or to tired trying to find correct settings. My build is: - rapido hotend 2 - lgx little - rest is stock What’s calibrated (at least I think) Polymaker PolyTerra filament - steeps - temp 195C - cooling on 70/60 % max - otherwise that fan is blowing prints away - PA is decent I’m struggling with correct retraction/flow settings Can someone point me in to right direction? - current flow 1.1 - retraction on 0.55mm

What slicer you using? Are you sure you sure pressure advance is working? Stock settings in Orca slice with EM and PA tuned should look pretty ok. Maybe you filament is slipping, have you clicked the extruder latch twice and confirmed filament path to it is sound

Hey! I’m using super slicer right now but perhaps I will get back to orca, I couldn’t get fan to work correctly with orca. I will double check on PA but I think it is on because corners looks quite alright! I will make a test in Orca and I will get back with results

You know your PA is working if it shows in the console before it starts printing I just moved to orca from ss. I find it better in most ways! Just need to get over the initial troubleshooting and learning curve with it, but it is based on prusa slice so not a million miles from super slicer.

Click here to set you flow and PA Flow can be done from the calibration menu very easily.

You can route the cable as above and remove the front shroud. It more of a hinderance than anything else You have a rapido 2 maybe with the flat heater on the side?

I think it’s flat heater but I need to double check No matter what I do I can find correct settings for that damn extruder/hotend combo. Its getting really frustrating, I’m printing with PolyTerra on my x-1’s without any issues and whatever i do I keep getting strings. Is there anyone using similar setup that could guide me with some base settings that works? Is possible that cooling shroud is designed for UHF extension and I don’t use that?

are you running the correct thermistor setting for your hotend ?

Yes, temps are tuned and all correct. I’ve realized that I didn’t use the extension for UHF and my fan outlet it for UHF by design. I constantly get hairlines and bad retractions all the way up to 2mm 🥲

This was the main issue…. I’ve installed Volcano fan channel and extension for nozzle and all problems are gone with stock settings 😂 I mean not all problems but this is good starting point
