My process is that ek couple se ek choose karo, choose karne ke 2 tarike Do it for 4 couples @silverdew

is the answer 16?
SirLancelotDuLac
Because 4 couples mein se ek ek choose karna hai toh that's (2)^(4C1) which is 16 And not 4C1 times 2!

you can select either one from the first couple so 2C1 = 2 either one from the second, so 2 ways and third and fourth so 222*2 = 16

I feel the exact mistake is your solution gives a sense of 'choose a couple first then select one of them' then 'choose the second couple and select one of them' So it gives an ORDER for the couples.. in reality we need to SELECT

To be more specific In your solution a couple is chosen first and then a member of that couple Why? It's the exact difference between permutation and combination Permutation gives a sense of arrangement.. Some element comes first and then second.. But in combinations you just Select
