Complete Wardrobe Revamp - Starting from scratch.
hey yall, defcon 1 kinda situation here, joined a dance club/organization but I have only one fit that is worthy of being worn. My closet underwent a purge so its practically empty and devoid of any sense of fashion.
All my shirts looked faded out and worn so I recycled what i could into nightwear and the rest have been trashed/put into donation bags accordingly.
Sad part is, I have no fashion style or sense. None. Zilch.
So i come to you for assistance, please help me look the best i can!

Hi @A.D! For better answers, include:
- Reference pictures
- Budget in numbers
- Specific measurements
- Openness to buying secondhand and/or online
- Location: country/continent is fine
- Timing/urgency
photos of clothing you like the look of would be helpful
budget ish per item or in total would be helpful
roger, getting that to you now!
Jeans like these are nice 74% cotton 21% polyester

In terms of shirts

That’s really about it
Like I said, I’m basically a blank canvas.
The clothes I’ve worn until now was literally anything and everything that was bought for me.
In terms of budget, I would like to reasonably priced but I can spend around 100 on one or two expensive items the rest have to be $50 or under.
I been looking at FMF but what gets posted there is really luck of the draw
just go thrift
I think you've misunderstood the first part of heckle's question. We can't suggest clothes for you in a vacuum. What kinds of styles/outfits do you like? If you can, show us pictures. That will help us provide the suggestions tailored to what you're looking for
you'll also have to decide what you actually like to wear. We can't decide that for you but basic stores are uniqlo, abercrombie, levi's etc. just about anything at the mall.
But thrifting is going to be cheaper tho you'll just have to search a bit more for stuff you like and is your size
ohhh ok. standby.
i can go to a mall but designated thrift stores are far and few in between.
online secondhand is probably the play anyways if you're looking for more targeted purchases
hard to go into physical thrifts looking for specific stuff since its pretty luck of the draw
no ripped jeans but this is basically it. everything else is a little change of the ones ive just sent or derivatives.

second hand huh? do i go ebay for that or are there designated trusted sites?
ebay is good if you're US based
that I am, so alright noted.
also like
they're just clothes
not a big deal
Check out some lookbooks and see what you like then you can figure out what you want to spend on and what you can get second hand
Better is to go somewhere and just try stuff on

I think you could build a wardrobe like this at a number of common mall fast fashion stores, like Uniqlo or Abercrombie or J crew. If you can’t find an item from your inspo photos at one of these places, it’s either out of season or out of style imo
Like the ripped black skinny jeans will be hard to find but that’s the worst photo of the bunch so I wouldn’t worry about them
might also be worth seeing what in #waywt-highlights or #inspiration looks really cool to you
and also try to resist the filling your closet all at once - often people buy a lot of stuff quickly to replace all the things they got rid of only to not wear most of it or find they need something else
got it
Time for you to hit da thrift! Resist the urge to fill out your closet fast. I'm going to project onto you and say to check out wide corduroy or seersucker pants, loud short sleeved camp collar shirts, and sweaters with a ton of texture
Thrifting is fun and don't ever be shy about being extremely picky with it. If the material composition, fit, or price aren't doing it for you you can come back next week and see if they have something better. You will thank yourself later for being picky
go with friends who you think are fashionable and making it a social thing
I’d like to suggest what smile said
Go to some clothing stores and try on some full outfits
Try different cuts of pants, shirts, jackets, etc
See how different clothes look on you. Look at yourself in clothes and see what you think looks good
