Building a Casual, Softboi-Inspired Wardrobe from Scratch
👀Recommendations🧥Wardrobe overhaul
I’m in my mid-20s (5’10”, lean) and honestly very new to caring about how I dress. I used to be a stay-at-home, tee-and-whatever kind of guy, but I’ve started going out more recently and realized I kind of… don’t have a real wardrobe.
Right now I basically have:
• white sneakers • a bunch of tees • some regular slacks • one cardigan • accessories (I’m good on those)
That’s pretty much it
I’m trying to build a head-to-toe casual outfit that works for hanging out, dates, and eventually a trip to overseas. I like the general softboi vibe — nothing too loud, more soft / comfy / slightly artsy — and I’m open to regular or relaxed fits (I’m planning on getting wide sweatpants at some point).
I mostly shop at Uniqlo and Shein since I’m based in the Philippines. Budget isn’t super strict, I can save if needed, just not luxury-brand levels.
I guess what I’m really asking is:
• If you were starting almost from scratch, what would be one solid, packable outfit you’d build first? • What kind of tops/bottoms/layers work well with white sneakers? • Any beginner mistakes I should avoid?
I’m definitely clueless, so even basic advice helps. Appreciate any guidance — thanks!
