Unusually Large Library Size

I just set up Immich today, and I ran into a bit of an issue. I have ~20 gigs of images and videos saved in a folder which I added as an external library. At first, the web UI said the library was the correct size, but then it slowly grew to roughly 3 times the original size. Is this normal?

Your UPLOAD_LOCATION and external library overlap That's a bad idea and tends to result in infinite loops
Sergey Katsubo
1. You can check disk space occupied by each Immich subfolder
docker exec immich_server sh -c "du -sh /data/* | sort -h"
docker exec immich_server sh -c "du -sh /data/* | sort -h"
2. Overlapping paths is bad idea indeed. Better avoid it. Though in this particular case it might be okay?

It might be, but hard to say for certain without more detail and it's safest to just avoid it anyways.

Thank you, I believe the overlapping paths was the issue. Moving the external library seems to have worked. Thank you so much!
