Last update was 2 weeks ago, so approximately 6 weeks
@ogPANDA 120fps was added to 17 Pro Max through a patch update today

You can try doing routine repair if you still don’t see the 120fps option

can you play on Smooth and 120 fps and let me know how your phone handles it? I'm debating whether to buy that phone or not but I need to see first if it gets too hot or if it starts throttling after some gaming time
It shouldn't get too hot since it got the vapor chamber cooling, have a fan nearby by and u should be all good
If it still gets hot just use a Magnetic Phone Cooler
I know about the vapor chamber but I've seen videos on youtube about the heat spreading across the entire screen instead of the back side of the phone and that could still be a problem cuz it could cause overly sweaty fingers, etc. If it gets too hot I'm just gonna buy a different phone I'm not gonna attach some silly looking thing to it.

After the 4th hr i started noticing heat from the cameras panel

I did a 100 to 0% battery run last night
No frame drops throughout
After 20% they do tend to drop for a few seconds randomly
Found the possible cause for that, adaptive power comes enabled by default, you gotta turn it off cuz it decreases performance when battery drops below 20%.
Anyone feeling slight delay in 120 fps with 17pm

could be related to iOS 26 and apple being trash then. I've had frame drops a couple times recently when on low battery too but I'm on 14 pro
I'm honestly really disappointed in apple. I had 84% battery life prior to iOS 26 and 1 week after it went down to 79%..
that number is not being updated very often. It was probably already at 79% physical capacity before you updated to iOS 26 and then the number refreshed. It is absolutely normal that it goes few percent down in a short period of time every couple months
or apple is just a money thirsty company and they want people to fill their pockets

iPhone 17 pro or pro max is totally worth it .it doesn’t get hot even using it for straight 5 10 hours and I also play my game on 120 fps so yeah it doesn’t get hot and it’s smooth asf u should buy it
120fps support on Oneplus Nord 5 when ?? as the chipset is capable of it.

Hi uh , i started using a spigen cover and i can say the device starts to get heated up if youre using a cover in turn reducing brightness , fps etc. I removed the cover and within 1minute the phone cooled off
yeah that's what I expected, the phone case traps heat in more consistently
