[Competitive Match Issue] Toxic and Troll – Can Anything Be Done?
Hello everyone,
I wanted to bring up an issue we encountered during a recent competitive match. We had a Neon on our team who was trolling and being toxic throughout the game. Here’s what happened:
- Constantly staying behind and following teammates instead of playing the objective.
- Intentionally revealing teammates by making them visible to enemies.
- Using abilities against teammates, making it harder for us to play effectively.
- Taking the spike but never planting it, effectively sabotaging the round.
- Remaining the last alive in attack and refusing to plant the spike, causing us to lose on purpose.
This kind of behavior is frustrating, especially in a competitive environment. I’m wondering if there’s anything that can be done to address this kind of player? Or are we just supposed to stay silent and accept it every time it happens?
I’m asking for advice from the community and the Riot staff. Can we do something about this, or is there no way to deal with it effectively?
Thanks for reading, and I hope we can find a solution to prevent this from happening again.

You can report them ingame or you can report them in riot website

Thanks @momo for the reply! I know that reporting in-game or through the Riot website is an option, but I’ve noticed that these situations happen pretty often now. Reporting for sabotage in-game doesn’t seem to lead to any real consequences, while reports for things like inappropriate voice/text chat usually get results.
Has anyone here had success with opening a ticket on the Riot website and submitting clips of the sabotage? Does it actually lead to any action, or is it just a matter of hoping the system catches it eventually?
if they get much reports and do it over and over system will get them by making ban long and longer till it lead to perma ban . And yes some ppl have reported to riot site and got other players punished but dont expect perma if its first or second time they have done it . if you attach clip would be better if not then riot still can sed the bad behaviour
so yes go ahead and report on website
Thanks @momo for the info! I appreciate the clarification. I’ll definitely consider reporting through the website with clips in the future.
That being said, I feel like the level of toxicity and trolling in competitive games has really increased lately. It seems like in over half of my matches, we end up dealing with at least one player who’s either trolling or being toxic on purpose. I really think Riot should focus more on these kinds of behaviors, especially since it ruins the experience for everyone involved. Hopefully, we can see more attention given to this issue in the future.
Thanks again for your help!
Np and hope you get better teammates :633658072245469195:
