Vanguard Restriction: IOMMU
Hi, valorant community.
Last week on saturday, my games exited itself saying "An IOMMU restiction has been applied, however a system restart is required to complete initialization"
So i activated IOMMU (ive played 10+ matches without iommu activated), but every time I receive the msg stated above and i try to boot in windows, it freezes. The loading animation gets stuttered and laggy. Only fix is to do "Startup Repair".
I tried to search for a solution online and it seems like my systems got restricted for a period?
My question is, is there a way to lift the restriction earlier?
Cuz i just returned to valorant and its a bummer that my valorant phase didnt even last for a month.

what windows you are on ? whats your ingame name and tag
have you made any hardware changes ?
and do you have anything plugged in your PCIE ?
aand can you show ss of device manager network adapters
Hi, im on Win 11 Pro, derkiness#1337 ; No hardware changes, PCIE only my rtx 4090 and my sound card which is creative sound blaster fx v2 BUT thhe
thing is i disconnected it and the error still appears
ah and its a fresh installed windows, cuz my pcs got infected. this system is 4 week fresh, i suppose
can you remove your sound card and try ?

so my best bet is to update driver for wifi adapter which ive done it, remove sound card and js wait for another response , right?

that makes sense actually wit sound card. damn never thought about it cuz vanguard thinking its a dma, i suppose? ill give an update in 1-2 hrs
well after you do update play in 10 min if no crash then its wifi adapter
sound card will be disabled so i dont think its the issue

First things to assure
I have a MSI mainboard: MSI B650-P Wifi
The vanguard requirements are already fulfilled
If you have a sound card: Disconnect it from PCIE
Update your network wifi driver (it doesnt matter if you play on ethernet)
If it doesn't work
1. Go to device manager
2. Find IDE ATA/ATAPI-Controller
3. If it says anything but "Standard SATA AHCI-Controller" then proceed to step 4
4. I had ASMEDIA driver for SATA. And that is a big no-no.
To see the overview, right-click on your SATA AHCI-Controller, then Properties - Drivers Tab - Drivers Details
4.1. Close the overview tab, right-click on your SATA AHCI-Controller then click on Update Drivers. Choose the second option "Search driver manually" - then choose the second option again
4.2. You'll see two controllers. One is Asmedia (in my case) and the other controller is called "Standard SATA AHCI-Controller"
You want to choose the standard SATA AHCI-Controller
4.3. After you've installed the standard driver, restart ur PC and open Valorant again.
You'll still get IOMMU restriction error but that is fine.
4.4. Restart your PC again and there you go! Your valorant will work again! Hooray!

Hi Guys, im experiencing the same issue with my newly bought pc. After joining a game my pc froze for 30 secs and a usb disconnect happenend after - everythign went well until this point. I googled and found out it has something to do with my Sound card ( which i used in my old pc with valorant without any problems). I removed it and tried again. Now when entering Valo after 2 minutes il get kicked out the game due to Iommu restriction apply - when restarting ill get a BSOD with Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_Equal
I tried everything - clean installed windows / tried updating Drivers but nothing has helped so far..
@ItsGamerDoc is there a possibility to have a look at? My Gamertag is LoveTheWayIPlay#Noob
@momo can you send me the wifi driver as well - just in case i have the wrong one
