Claude High CPU Usage When Idle
I have claude-code 3.0.0 registry version enabled. I started up a fresh workspace. Before opening anything within the workspace I opened the terminal and did
htop to see running services. I notice Claude Code running around 6% which is equivalent to 1 core at all times. Times this by 10+ workspaces and I have my entire server maxed out running idle Claude instances.

I also tried:
- installing claude code manually (not using the registry) and I see the same high claude code idle CPU usage
- using claude code in the code-server terminal, vscode web terminal, and coder terminal all show the same high idle CPU usage
- installing claude code in WSL on my computer and did not see the same high idle CPU usage
I am starting to think this is an issue with claude code running in a coder workspace (possibly envbox).
This is interesting. Could be a Claude Code bug.
They update frequently. So a new update might fix this
It has been happening for close to 2 months which is when I integrated claude code into the workspace.
