DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine
I'm trying to test Heroic out on Bloodstained Ritual of the Night. I have the game installed on an external drive which I can launch on a dual booted Windows instance.
Here's the logs:

I've tried to manually install DXVK on WineTricks and that didn't work. I also tried updating my nvidia drivers to latest and that didn't work too.

That means the game is using software rendering, which means there's an issue with your graphics driver setup.
What is the output of
nvidia-smi run in a terminal?
Please copy and paste the text, rather than taking a screenshot of the terminal.

Like this

We just need the first table, not the Processes table from the output. For example, this is what it outputs on my system.

That looks like what I'd expect from a functioning nvidia setup. Hmm...
Are you running the AppImage Heroic release?

I installed via the .deb

OK, so likely not a sandboxing issue.
And you're using umu, which I thought takes care of Wine dependencies.
Sorry, I'm completely out of ideas.

The game on the shared drive is on a NTFS drive if that helps
genetic-orange•2mo ago
That is known to cause other problems, but not with graphics, as far as I know.

I've tried reinstalling the game via heroic and it launches on install
The moment I close the game and reopen again, I get this same error
Thanks for the help anyways!

@"Leopard" what?
broad-brown•2mo ago
I dunno why someone would sideload it
If they have on their account
genetic-orange•2mo ago
They've sideloaded the install on their Windows partition
broad-brown•2mo ago
Install-> Import
Which uses already existing installation
Doesnt download anything more

Why is this piracy? I have the game installed via Windows on a mounted drive.
I'm trying to test gaming on Linux so I don't want to reinstall a game I have already installed on Windows.
I could easily reinstall via steam and test it on Linux but that defeats the whole purpose of it does it?
broad-brown•2mo ago
So you dont have this game on GOG account normally?
pleasant-yellowOP•2mo ago
I have the game on Steam
broad-brown•2mo ago
See, that is why it is piracy. Just because i have some game on X platform that doesnt give me license on Y platform.
But yes, install Steam and some small game within it to test your system setup.
pleasant-yellowOP•2mo ago
What? I didn't download the game from Gog
I don't get how you are inferring that
From the drive name?
Installed it on the wrong nested folder back then
Since it's a external drive
broad-brown•2mo ago
Ye, folder name.
pleasant-yellowOP•2mo ago
This is why people just stick to Windows and play games
broad-brown•2mo ago
Lmao

Game is 10 gb
You should test via Steam, maybe just your setup is borked.

It's also good to note that playing the game off of an NTFS drive would've likely set your testing up for disaster
broad-brown•2mo ago
Nah, if that was ntfs it would have problems with prefix creation
And wouldnt give llvmpipe error
Would fail waaaaay before that
fascinating-indigo•2mo ago
Ah, fair point
broad-brown•2mo ago
In the end this is most likely a gpu issue, either misses nvidia icd or driver installation made with non distro way so 64 bit-32 bit mismatch occurs
But one thing for sure, when people have a game legit and want to move to another OS they dont grab some other copy from somewhere else instead of using their legit, easy to access copy
@aidalgol
You pinged me, now my turn

I've already tried using Linux for gaming a couple of years back via Steam.
I was looking to fully migrate off of Windows, I'm already doing all my work on Linux but dual boot for gaming. I still have some standalone exes like openXcom or openRC2.
This was just an experiment on whether I can launch such standalone exes through Heroic/Wine which I can never seem to get right.
I don't see why you don't think this is common considering this is Heroic. If I can simply launch it through Steam why would I need to install Heroic.
Anyways, thanks for the help regardless, I will look into it
