cuz since horizontal momentum is consered, and velocity of particle after collision was 3m/s and of trolley was 0, when particle reaches max position its velocity wrt cart will b zero ( at rest) or u can sya its velocity wrt ground will be same as trolley, so 3(2)=(4+2)v0 , now use energy conser at initial moment and this moment when its at rest wrt cart
