Cordings or Nah?
Hi folks - I hope you are all well enjoying the slide into jacket weather (or at least, those of you in the northern hemisphere).
I am considering heading to the Cordings store to try on two pairs of trousers, as they are currently running a promotion so two pairs would be ~£300:
https://www.cordings.co.uk/serge-trousers.html and https://www.cordings.co.uk/grey-classic-flannel-trousers.html
I am interested in these because I'd like to have some heavier weight trousers moving into the colder months, and whilst I work in the city, it's quite informal so the plan was to get serge/cavalry twill and flannels with turn ups, that I could wear with a jacket/wool jumper.
I have done a bit of a search on the MFA reddit and have come across a few people who suggest that the quality of Cordings' tailoring doesn't necessarily match the price, and that there are better options out there at the same price point - so before I make this investment, would anyone have any alternative recommendations (ideally from somewhere where I could try the trousers on before buying!)?
I've come across some very nice cavalry twill trousers at Natalino (https://natalino.co/products/single-pleat-trouser-navy-wool-cavalry-twill) and these jump out at me for having slightly nicer details and being made in Portugal (I'm not sure the Cordings ones say where they were made), however there is no promotion so two pairs of trousers would be ~£400 (and therefore a bit of a jump).
Thanks all!

Hi @TrampyPizza! For better answers, include:
- Reference pictures
- Budget in numbers
- Specific measurements
- Openness to buying secondhand and/or online
- Location: country/continent is fine
- Timing/urgency
I would just look at them in store and base my decision on that. I don't think there is much use in overly optimizing quality. If you like the look, feel and fit they will be more than fine.
I’ve found clothes from both these brands well made. The Natalino option is likely to be aimed at a younger customer.
Thanks for the comments, both - sounds like I may be overthinking it! I'll head to Cordings and see how the trousers feel.
