Ghost/wave effect

Just finished up my ratrig and have printed a couple small things, prints seem pretty good except for this interesting ghosting/waveiness on edges. This is my first 3d printer so I have a ton still left to learn, I'm sure there's still plenty of adjustments needed on the printer but just curious about getting a head start on what I should be looking at first. RR 400 hybrid (hybrid motors not hooked up yet for commissioning checks), prusa slicer on PLA standard settings.

looks like ringing. Have you done the input shaping stuff?

You'll definitely need to go through the commissioning guide to help understand the impact of the physical mechanics of the printer. It'll help you identify issues with the belts and acceleration speeds. What I've noticed it doesn't cover though, is esteps, flow and pressure advance tuning. Orca has a really good tutorial guide for them though

those are more filament related, instead of strictly printer. The ringing is independent of filament. Orca, SuperSlicer, and I'm sure others have great calibration routines

Yeah, I had a feeling it might've been related but wanted to just preemptively get some opinions first. It's definitely not great, got some issues to work out. The commissioning guide doesn't give a ton of context as to what's bad or acceptable so after messing around for a while on trying to improve things and not seeing a ton of progress I decided to just do some test prints to see where it was at. I'll dedicate some more time to trying to improve the graphs.
