Unrecognized VM option 'G1ConcRSHotCardLimit=16'

I guess you'd ask about my Java version
I would not recommend this wall of arguments
Well, that's what's on "recommended setup"
Idk why its even in the docs, most of it is probably snake oil anyways
I'm following the guide
Solution

.
Aight, thanks for your help, I'll try without all these options
What
Just see this website
It explains a lot
Yeah, I saw
But what I meant is if I asked on the server they would hate me and say to read docs...
Installing java 25 and using the flags of that is probably the best thing you can do
Nobody would hate you???
I mean in general... if I ask about some technical stuff usually people reply "READ DOCS"
Shouldn't this page be updated then? https://gitlab.com/distant-horizons-team/distant-horizons-server-plugin/-/wikis/Recommended-setup
To be expected if its in the docs. If you don't understand some part in the docs you need to ask a question that is more specific
I'd say yes, but thats on jckf to decide
Okay, thanks for your help
I'll try with the 2 flags in the link you mentioned
Temurin has a java 25 build iirc
Adoptium
Adoptium
Eclipse Adoptium provides prebuilt OpenJDK binaries from a fully open source set of build scripts and infrastructure.
@Jckf what say you?
Java 25 has a 1.2% install base. I don't know how much I care about providing tailored arguments for every version of every runtime. If you're curious about what the args do and why they are included, then read the article that is linked as a source on the wiki.
its not about installing java 25, rather these walls of flags are mostly not worth it or don't do what they say
this site summarizes it pretty well and has flags for different java versions
Why comment if you haven't read the wiki article or the source in question?
As a blanket statement; I agree
But these are not "random args"
The page you link directly contradicts my source about Graal btw
But I admit that my source is probably a bit outdated
Saying
If some random set of flag soup were better, itβd be the default.is also completely unhinged. As if application or hardware specific tuning isn't a thing at all. To be clear; I value and respect your opinions and feedback, but telling users to ignore my advice, and linking to a page that is condescending towards anyone who recommends flags, does not strike me as the correct approach.
