Getting Hardware Acceleration working

My friend just installed bazzite on a laptop with intel ironlake integrated graphics (i3 350M) from what I know, mesa supports all the way down to intel gma graphics, so this shouldn't be an issue,

But for some reason the system info says that it's being software rendered, and it's causing even just doing stuff on the desktop to be really laggy.

How do we fix this and enable hardware accelerated rendering?
Solution
I can confirm mesa supports all the way back to Intel GMA because I have archlinux on a PC with GMA 3100 and GPU is working. however the install is rather old, it's stuck on plasma 5.27. iirc plasma dropped support for very old GPUs like this due to lack of a feature. you can try rebasing to gnome. normally rebasing across DEs is not recommended but this is a fresh install so there is not much to lose.
