DH always does that
That's right, I just had to wait a longer. (LODS were slowly generated)
Although this is strange, because I specifically use server-side LODs generation for DH on a 32-core processor with c2me.

I was trying to achieve this effect.

The point is that when drawing 16 chunks, the fog already covers almost everything on 8-12 chunks (This effect is specially designed for assembly)
And everything beyond 12-16 chunks is no longer visible, and the texture (and its quality) is absolutely not important. It is only important that the LODs are approximately one block size.
I was able to achieve this by pregen all terrain via DH, and then setting the following settings in the client::
