If the RMB sentence is visible to Signal K server then the course API will see that as the current destination, set
nextPoint.position which will trigger the calculations.2 Replies
this is something that always confused me. when SignalK receives an RMB from an NMEA0183 source, how does that interact with the new course API?
e.g. if the Course API is set to Great Circle globally, the RMB should represent a Rhumbline path, right?
I was feeding in courses from e.g. Aqua Maps, which similarly sends RMB messages over NMEA0183. haven't tried this in a few months though as I switched to using Freeboard as my plotter and controlling the autopilot from there.
