Beacon Z-Offset woes
Hi all. I am having issues setting my Z-Offset.
I ran the BEACON_RATOS_CALIBRATE BED_TEMP=50 command for PLA. It ran all the way through and in the end I think it saved the config because it did restart. Went to perform my first print and had to step the head down -0.168.
Stopped the print and tried printing a single layer 150x150 square. Started the print and sure enough, had to step down to -0.168 again. This time, before the first layer ended I ran a SAVE_Z_OFFSET followed by a SAVE_CONFIG. Started a new print and again, -0.168.
Checked printer.cfg and it seems the model_offset didn't update. So then I homed the extruder, manually stepped down to -0.168 and the paper just started grabbing my paper. Felt good so I ran a Z_OFFSET_APPLY_PROBE and then SAVE_CONFIG. Checked the printer.cfg after the reload was done and yes... This time the cfg file was changed to the value shown when I set the offset. Started a new print... and now I need to step down almost -0.250.
I am running the CALIBRATE again, but would love to know if there is a known issue or a reason why the value wouldn't automatically update at times.

Meanwhile, It finished the calibrate and threw an error:

To fix this I had to heat the hot end up to 325c let it ooz a bit. Then unload the filament. Turned the cooling fan to 30% and let the hot end cool off about 210c I used something to wipe the nozzle and let it cool back down to room temp. Then started the config on a clean build plate. No glue or anything. And I got a good zero.
But I’m fighting the mesh compensation not working correctly or at all. Starts good. Works to terrible but zero is fixed
