No Vanilla fog with Distant Generation and Rendering off

When I join a Minecraft server, which doesn't have a DH Support Plugin, I want the mod disabled. But when I do so (Enable rendering: False, Enable Distant Generation: False [even tho it doesn't do anything on a server]), there is no vanilla fog and it makes the world feel weird. Yes, I have "Enable Vanilla Fog: True".
