Creating a custom image to restore akmod "nct6687D"
Hey! I just switched to Bazzite from Windows 10 recently and I'm loving it. It's my first Linux distro so please have some patience.
I'm quite technical (I do GameDev, Programming and 3D art) but just not well versed in Linux stuff.
My main issue is that due to my case design i need to control my case fans through software otherwise my GPU stars to overheat (90+degrees) and cause system instability (got BSOD: Code Hardware failure on Windows). On linux however, my Motherobard is not supported and needs "nct6687D" driver. When digging in this forum i found out that it's suggested to create a custom image if i need this.
Read through the "Creating A Custom Bazzite Image" Docs and i'm unsure of what i want. Should i use the Option A (Image template) or Option B (Fork Bazzite) if I want a somewhat maintenance free setup where i automatically get stable updates from bazzite-nvidia-open:stable?
Thanks for any guidance!
Also for any maintainers, you guys rock, I really appreciate your work!
Hardware: MSI MGP X570 Gaming Edge Wifi (MS-7C37), Ryzen 5 3600, Nvidia RTX 3080 FE
OS Version: bazzite-nvidia-open:stable (6.16.4-116.bazzite.fc42.x86_64 (64-bit))
Edit:
Tried to get a hold of any USB Fan Cotrollers that have linux drives but none of them are avalible. My BIOS settings are quite limited and it doesn't support using the GPU as a temperature sensor.
I have some free time tomorrow and will try to get this to work.

https://blue-build.org/ is generally the way to go when building a custom image, you will be able to build off of their template, and they allow you to configure a whole bunch of stuff in a single "recipe"
BlueBuild
The easiest way to build your own desktop Linux images.
The BlueBuild project creates accessible tools for you to create, configure & build custom images of atomic Fedora distributions.
Thanks! Will read the docs.
