Advice/ Feedback on finding casual shoe

Hi all,

I made an old post here looking for recommendations on a casual black shoe. While I ordered a few pairs of things, I found that:

• Loafers looked too preppy for what I wanted
• Other options did not fit my current wardrobe - I normally wear slim/ tapered bottoms while I'm changing that with anything newer that I buy

I saw the paraboot michaels and thought they looked pretty cool, but well out of my price range, I have some alternatives on the way but I recently bought these which I thought looked pretty cool. I don't like the Fred Perry logo but otherwise they aren't bad.

With jeans, I really like how they look, but I wanted to get your thoughts on the fits with my chinos (see pics) - are my chinos just too slim fit?
