was connecting to smb shares fixed in the latest update?

I read somewhere (Reddit) that the latest stable update fixed it (2025-10-25) but then I don’t see the fix in the release notes and it doesn’t seem to be fixed when I try it. Can anyone verify if it’s actually supposed to be fixed? If not then I can stop trying to troubleshoot it for now
