Denim Fits Check
Hi all, following on from a thread I started earlier in the week, here are three sizes/cuts of Naked and Famous denim, one in Size 30 Weird Guy, Size 31 Weird Guy, and Size 29 True Guy, first (tightest fit) second (both hands up) and third (loosest cut) respectively. Which fits my body best? I'm thinking Weird Guy 31 since I like the taper, but curious if y'all think the straight cut of the True Guy looks better.

Hi @(v)alachite! For better answers, include:
- Reference pictures
- Budget in numbers
- Specific measurements
- Openness to buying secondhand and/or online
- Location: country/continent is fine
- Timing/urgency
i like the third best but a lot of how jeans look depends on the shoes
the 31 weird guy looks like its comfier on your waist but other than that its entirely up to u. I think taper looks worse than a straight leg or bootcut 90% of the time so the weird guys are always gonna look like ass to me, but I ain't the one wearing them.
true guys are the best cut but thair pair doesn't fit you, the button is holding on for life. you gota size up. agree that the 31 weird guy fits the best but the super harsh taper is just such an odd cut IMO
If it helps, I plan on wearing engineer boots, so I agree that true guy might be the better cut. Unfortunately they didn't have a 30 in stock so I couldn't try it, but I do like the straight cut
That's fine because a 30 is clearly too small for your waist. You could probably try and be comfy in a 32 based on these photos.
I did try the 31 in store and was swimming in them, so 30 is probably a sweet spot (it's a 32 waist measurement and most of my pants are 31). Strangely enough, I think the button stress is exaggerated in the photos, none of them felt tight in the waist IRL
One other thing is the rise: I'm 5ft 5in so I usually avoid higher rise pants since I fear they might make me look shorter. Is this a valid concern or should I not worry about it?
You don't need to worry about this, and if anything higher rise gives the impression of longer legs and taller.
It looks too tight in the hips, too, though. When you say swimming in them, are they falling down when you put them on or do they just feel big?
They did struggle to stay up yeah. They also looked noticeably baggier on my legs which didn't look appealing. Most of my denim has stretched in the waist and hips over time so I'm a little less concerned about a bit of a tighter fit there at first
So long as they're not uncomfortable of course. I think a 30 would work well in the true guy
You really shouldn't buy something in the hopes it fits, especially if it's in a different fabric. Sometimes it can just be a bit jarring to get used to going from slim/skinny to straight. The pair looks too small but ultimately go with god and follow your heart etc.
