Is switching back and forth between Purpur and Paper okay?
It's for testing a bug in one of the plugins, they dont officially support Purpur and ask that i try it on Paper. Will this potentially cause corruption or is it virtually fine?

It shouln't cause any issues (as long as you stay on the same game version) as they don't change anything in the world

purpur itself has no performance improvements over paper. It only gives you access to more config options that could improve performance at the expensive of some vanilla mechanics
I'm noticing in comment search people are turning against purpur now. Ill have to do a deep dive now ack
i mean they removed puffer patches, and 99% of people dont need purpur configs
i needed something that controlled arrows, but i dont remember what anymore
but the performance thing (from puffer?) was a big one back when i first switched
"Turning against purpur now" Well the purpose of purpur is to give you many many customization options, either you need those options or you don't... simple

I'm aware, what I was referring to is that telling someone to use purpur because of pufferfish patches instead of just using pufferfish never made much sense in the first place
That's like me going yeah I need that customization purpur provides thus I'm gonna use leaf because it also has those patches
I also wanted the customizations. But the performance boost is more important. I think i only toggled 1 thing for bows and thats the only reason I kept it
Welp if you want the customization use purpur if not you might aswell stick with paper
or... pufferfish
